Every week, my Release Radar is packed with new and exciting tracks from a mix of genres—everything from hard-hitting EDM bangers to literally anything else. This time, I’ve picked a few standout songs that had me hitting replay. Let’s dive into these gems and explore what makes each of them worthy of your playlist! (Note that there is no ranking in this)
1. ARES (Tear Up My Horizon) by Fourier, Reverse Prodigy & ZAM
I have been excited for this release since Abhay from INAU announced that he was going to create dark songs under his alias called Fourier. When he debuted his release with NCS, I knew I had to listen to it as soon as possible. The drop in this track was so dirty and melodic, and everything was mixed just right to achieve that grunge aesthetic. The second drop featured a warlord summoning pre-drop to make everything hit even harder than expected. It was quite an experience to stream this. If you're a fan of songs that make you feel like a morally grey protagonist, this is for you.
2. zero point by veer
This one is a heavy one, Veer said that this song has the worst mixdown and is the loudest song he is ever going to make. I was following Veer since someone sent me a remix of "Stereo Love" made by Veer, and I fell in love with the melodic bass flows he made for this (I could never make such flows) and became a fan ever since. Here, the third drop goes super heavy; it will melt your brains off. I warned you.
3. Lover Online by notd & Maia Wright
This dance track is light and breezy, with Maia Wright's vocals enhancing the song's cheerful vibe. NOTD's sleek future pop production completes the experience. Following their previous collaboration "AM:PM," this track stands out with its flawlessly integrated vocal cuts and synth combo. The minimalist sound packs a punch, offering a refreshing and relaxing listening experience.
4. Old school by Fabian Mazur
Say whatever you want, but Fabian Mazur is a genius when making gangster-type beats that make you feel like a mafia boss. The stabs and the high-pitched synth make this song stand out from the rest of the songs released today. I can't get enough of the sound selection Fabian uses for his songs. His latest album was such a bop too.
5. DREAMTAPE by Mridul Kala & SPYR
SPYR and Mridul Kala are back with an emotional electronic dance track. The composition in this is making me think of emotional times I had in my life, as if I lost something very precious to me but can't figure out what that exactly is. But yeah, the stutter synths in the drop were very therapeutic, and I love how detailed the ambiences are to kind of invoke the right emotions in the listeners. The slowed drop at the end was so cool to listen to as an outro.
This is it for today's Release Radar picks. Writing blogs like this was challenging to be more expressive in my writing, and I hope you follow these artists to broaden your sonic library.
If you have any suggestions or know of any artists you want me to listen to, please drop them in the comments and stay tuned (hopefully I can be consistent with this).
